Any smooth, non-porous surface: ceramic and porcelain tile, glass, mirror, glossy plastic, stainless steel and lacquered cupboard doors. It doesn't work on wallpaper, painted plasterboard, wood, render or heavily textured tile. A vacuum needs something smooth to grip.
Up to 7 kg per hook when the surface is clean and the whole suction cup sits on the tile. A wet bath towel weighs around a kilo, a dressing gown roughly double that. We tested with 7 kg for 30 days without a single hook letting go.
No. An ordinary suction hook is just pressed on and slowly leaks air. The Wove hook is locked with the dial, which presses the suction cup flat and keeps the vacuum sealed. If it loses its grip after months, it's almost always limescale or soap residue under the cup: rinse it off, dry the surface and put it back.
Best not to. The suction cup is 6.1 cm across and needs to sit entirely on one smooth tile. On small tiles, pick a spot where the whole cup fits, or use the glass or the mirror instead.
Yes, that's where most of them live. Steam, water and soap don't affect the vacuum, and the body is built not to rust or flake. Dry the surface before fitting, then it can get as wet as it likes.
