On and off – a light tap on the touch pad and her belly begins to glow.
Change the light colour – tap again to go from warm, golden light (3000 K) through neutral to cool daylight (6000 K).
Dim – hold your finger on the touch pad and let go when the light is just how you like it.
When the battery is running low, simply plug in the USB cable. After 1–3 hours she's ready for a whole week of evenings again.

Silver and gold have a metallic finish. All four share the same silhouette and the same white, glowing belly.

Four finishes
Find the one that suits your home
Same silhouette, same glowing belly. The difference is the surface – and the mood it brings to the room, even when she's switched off.
Nordic & bright
Light wood
A light, natural wood look that feels right at home among oak, linen and white walls.
Warm & rich
Dark wood
A deeper wood look for dark furniture, walnut and rooms with character.
Modern & simple
Silver
A cool, metallic sheen for the minimalist home of glass and steel.
Elegant & warm
Gold
A warm, golden sheen that glows especially beautifully with the warm light.
The wood-effect finishes are printed on ABS plastic, not solid wood. That makes them light, sturdy and easy to wipe clean.

Our philosophy
We don't just sell things for the home. We collect the evenings when the phone is put away, the candles are lit and the house finally settles.

Sits on the chest of drawers in our bedroom and goes on every evening once we have brushed our teeth. Soft, warm light that never glares, and the dark wood look is even nicer in real life.
James K.London
★★★★★
Gave one in gold to my mum for her birthday. She rang the same evening to tell me the bird now lives on her windowsill. Best present this year.
Peter G.Norwich
★★★★★
Bought her for the hallway dresser so we no longer switch on the ceiling light when we get home late. Now she is the first light on every evening. I charge her roughly once a week.
David H.Manchester
★★★★☆
Really beautiful lamp, and the warm light is lovely and cosy. The cool light is a bit too bright for my taste, so I almost only use the warm setting. Hence four stars.
Charlotte N.Brighton
★★★★★
I use her as a night light in the nursery. Dimmed right down she's just right, and I can carry her with me for night-time nappy changes.
Amy S.Bath
★★★★☆
Even switched off she is lovely – light wood against a white wall, like a little sculpture. Four stars only because I would have liked a slightly longer USB cable.
Margaret S.Norwich
★★★★★
Sweet and simple to use. One tap and she lights up. My husband, who's 78, got the hang of it straight away.
Ben T.Cardiff
★★★★☆
Nice lamp and quick delivery. I took the chain off as I think she looks best clean and simple on the table. Good that it comes off.
Lucy R.Nottingham
★★★★★
The silver suits our grey and white living room perfectly. Lovely finish, looks far more expensive than it is.
Mark M.Sheffield
★★★★★
I wasn't sure about the battery, but it lasts ages. I charge it on Sunday and it's ready to go all week.
Hannah A.Edinburgh
★★★★★
Bought one for a friend who'd just moved. Ended up ordering one for myself the next day.
Richard D.Bath
★★★★★
Sits on the patio table under the canopy when we're out in the evening, then comes back inside afterwards. Brilliant being able to move it around.
Grace F.Oxford
★★★★★
Dark wood looks really smart next to our walnut sideboard. Up close you can tell it's a wood effect, but the page is honest about that.
Chris J.Newcastle
★★★★☆
Good lamp. The parcel came quickly. I'd have liked it a touch bigger, but it's really cosy on the bedside table.
Rachel V.Exeter
★★★★★
I now have three in gold around the house. The warm light is so soothing that the big light hardly ever gets switched on any more.
Oliver E.Cambridge
★★★★★
A gorgeous touch in the bedroom. The touch dimming is smooth and precise, and there are no cables in sight.

★★★★★
We were given two in gold as a wedding present and now there is one on each bedside table. We have not switched the bedroom ceiling light on since.
Martin A.Sheffield
★★★★★
I work from home and Svala sits on my desk. Cool light in the morning, warm when it gets dark outside. My eyes thank me.
Karen L.Chester
★★★★★
Bought one for my dad, who gets up at night. He leaves her on the lowest setting all night and finds his way to the bathroom without tripping.
Jessica M.Bristol
★★★★★
Got the two-pack for the twins’ room. One tap and they fall asleep to their own little bird. No cables for small fingers to pull.
Lewis N.Edinburgh
★★★★★
We stopped lighting candles on the coffee table when the cat moved in. Svala gives the same cosy feeling without the worry.
Megan H.Nottingham
★★★★☆
Lovely lamp and the light is really pleasant. I would have liked a timer so she switches herself off, hence four stars.
Susan B.Harrogate
★★★★★
Two in gold on the Christmas table last year, so this time I bought silver for New Year. Guests always ask where they are from.
Henry J.St Ives
★★★★★
Took three to the holiday cottage. There is no socket on the terrace, but Svala lasts the whole evening and charges with a phone charger afterwards.
Questions & answers
Good to know about Svala
Up to 15 hours on one charge. Exactly how long depends on the brightness: at full strength in cool light she uses more power than when dimmed and warm. Most people charge her once a week.
With the USB cable included, plugged into an ordinary USB charger, your computer or a power bank. From empty to full takes 1–3 hours.
Yes, she'll happily glow with the cable plugged in. But she's at her loveliest without a cable, of course.
One tap switches her on, another tap cycles between warm, neutral and cool light. Hold your finger on the touch pad and the light dims smoothly up and down.
No. Light wood and dark wood are a wood-effect finish printed on ABS plastic. You get the warm look without it minding damp or fingerprints, and it weighs next to nothing.
The ring and chain are a removable decorative touch. Some people hang her in a window or from a hook, others prefer her clean and simple on the table. Both are exactly right.
No, the LED light only gets slightly warm. That's why she makes a lovely night light in the nursery too – just keep her out of reach of little ones.
Svala is made for indoor use. On a covered patio on a dry summer evening she'll be fine, but bring her in before it turns damp.
We dispatch within 24 hours on working days, and you get a tracking number by email. Free delivery from £29.99.
Yes, you have 14-day returns. Write to us and we'll send you return instructions, and we refund you in full once we've received her.
